I'm very keen to add a window to my boring blank side panel. Now I was wondering does the quality of the perspex make much of a difference, I was just going to order the cheapest I could find, but would some more expensive stuff be nicer quality. (clearer, less scratch resistant, etc)

If you're going to drill and/or machine it in other ways then make sure you get cast acrylic. The other type (extruded) is more prone to cracking. Cast is the more expensive type, but for a single ~500mm square sheet it's not that much more.
