Hi,

Anyone know where I can get a quality PS2 componenet cable?

I have just bought a nice Samsung 26" HD TV and want to make the most of the component connection.

Has anyone got a PS2 rigged up this way, how is the picture quality and will all games work ok, not just progressive scan games?

Cheers.

I've got a Samsung LE26R73BD and using the advanced RGB cable, but the PS2 looks horrid on it mate. I did try the HDTV player with component but it made no difference. My ps2 is now getting moved back to a normal TV. :p

Ixos do one, about £28 I think.

My PS2 looked horrible through component, far worse than RGB

only if sony did a better job of the component circuitry on NTSC models which is a possiblity

I use my PS2 using a component cable that I got from a well known high street retailer who also sell online and it's awesome. I'm not sure I can say exactly where I got it from due to the newly inforced strict rules. Do a search on the forums and it might thow up a few places to get it from. The one that I got is a lot cheaper than the IXOS one.

Yes, I've probably got the same component (retailer's own brand) cable as the poster above. Definitely makes a helluva lot of difference playing in progressive scan on my Dell 2405. You can clearly see the difference. Not all games support progressive scan though - I think they have to have an option in setup to do it.

e.g. Shadow of the Colossus, Prince of Persia all require selection of progressive modes but once you do it's a big change.

Hi,

yeah, I'm pretty sure we got it from the same place.

I thought Shadow of the Collossus looked terrible through Progressive scan. I ended up playing with is off as the image was much sharper and clearer
