This isn't a real problem, purely hypothetical because I'm bored, so no need for boxing stances, letterboxes or to move jobs.
My company pays for training and the tests, on this occasion, CISM. Now for CISM and other quals, you need CPE's to remain certified. My company will give me time to attend events etc, but will not pay for the annual membership fees.
However, I use my quals in my job ie when bringing new systems online if I tick a box that identifies me as CISM, the process is quicker and smoother, the company also use my quals as selling points to customers and in advertising.
So after all that, does your company pay for your certs renewals or is this down to the individual? Or any other thoughts?
