Right,

Shortly i will be getting an insurance replacement for a laptop i dropped, this time i chose a desktop seeing as they gave me the choice.

Basic Spec :

Acer PC ( cant remember the model number )

E6400
320GB HDD
2Gb RAM
X1650XT
No idea what mobo but the case looks like it will only take a MATX board.
And Vista Home Premium

Now ive already got a great PC, and only really intended swapping the processors as ive only got an E6300 and intended selling the rest of the stuff.

Now as im still on XP, id quite like to use the Vista that comes with this PC. If it dosent come with a windows disk this is out of the question ( unless i use the 320GB HDD as well )

Now i wouldnt be registering it on the new PC, juist mine if its possible, so it would only be used on the one PC. Im assuming however that its tied to the PCs motherboard, and if its likley to be a MATX board its going to be pants so may as well flog the unit as a whole ( after changing the CPU over ) and buy an OEM copy of Vista.

if vista comes with that new pc u can't transfer it to your other pc because it'll probably vista oem...

im not sure whats your question

You won't be able to do that, as the Vista would be tied to Motherboard. Vista OEM. ;)
So what happens if you mobo goes belly up and you get it replaced ??
