It's a harlequin ladybird larva.

I've seen a few of those over the last couple of years- odd looking things.
Yeah, I think you’re right. Never seen one of these before. There are bloody millions of them outside my house.

Weird creatures, this one looks like it’s mutating into its final form. Guess they must not be tasty to birds, cos there are tons of birds around here.
