Hi Guys

Was about to order my x1900xt and was wondering what most think would be the best brand. I don't mean the bundle themselves as from reading from various sources that most of the x1900xt are/should be about the same in perforamnce as long as the speeds are about the same as they are normally just rebranded by the company when produced.

I was thinking about the Powercolour but i see that i now have a choice of Asus, MSI and Sapphire, as most are similar in price. If i am not bothered about the bundle ie games etc and soley focusing on the card and more importantly the performance then am i losing out if i opt for the Powercolour instead of going for a Sapphire or MSI?

As far as I am aware there is no difference in performance between the brands, they all follow the ATI reference design closely(except maybe Asus but they are just a bit odd in that regard). I'd probably suggest HIS as they have Arctic Coolers fitted as standard so ought to be pretty quiet and the coolers are good :)

Usually there is no different in hardware. However, some brand might give you better bunddle.

One thing i have been heard of is the Power color brand is not a good. The support and the quality of the card seems to be below par. That was happen during the x800 age. It just an experience i had.

ie HIS Excalibur ATI Radeon X1900 XT

Hightech Radeon X1900XT

are exactly the same??

They both come with the Artic Cooler? Reason i am saying that is that the piccie are slightly different from what i could make out. But i guess that could be just illistration.

I don't know about Hightech and I'm not about to ask where you found them but on the OcUK website they are given as HIS Excalibur ATI Radeon X1900 XT-X ICEQ 3 SILENT Heatpipe and the companies website is HISdigital. Hightech and HIS may be one and the same but I can't guarantee it I'm afraid, if they use the ICEQ cooling system(rebranded Arctic Coolers effectively) then chances are good they are the same but that is about as far as I'd go.
 
Thanks for the link - your right they are both the same company (hightech Information Systems) , it just that the card on ocuk is the artic cooler edition. Spot on.!
 
Just to say about the HIS cards they are 2 types one with the stock fan and one with the iceq 3 fan, you can see both on the oc website, ive also heard that the gecube x1900xtx and the powercolor clocks the best think it does up to 690 and 1600 but no idea what temps they run at.
 
My Connect3D 1900Xt has not let me down. As far as I was concerned the only real differences were price/bundles. I had heard about the HIS fans though, but you pay more for them - the actual cards are the same.
