Quest 2 airlink set up

My Quest 2 cable doesn't seem to connect reliably so I am looking at using the air link instead.

From having a little play it seems that I can't connect ad-hoc to my computer's wifi adapter, it will always be via the "router"?

I have a (cheap) wifi extender thing and I connected both my PC and the Quest 2 to the _EXT wifi network and it is a suspiciously good connection on the quest 2. The PC is connecting to the extender via Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) with a speed of 144/144 (Mbps) over 2.4GHz lol.

However this appears in-headset to be a suspiciously good connection. Do you know if this connection will be going from "PC - extender - headset" or will it be going "PC - extender - modem+router - extender - Quest 2"?

i dont have experience with Airlink.
the set up isnt an ideal tbh. as your using the 2.4ghz and wifi across both points
from memory using Virtual Desktop over 500Mbps with ideal being 800
it does depend on a few variables.

ideally id suggest wired connection from pc to router.

to me the speed seems to low.

the traffic would be as you say : PC - extender - modem+router - extender - Quest 2
unless there is some spart routing were its going : PC - extender - Quest 2
which is possible.

tbh if you have a spare old router use that if your playing in the same room.
