Quest 2 link setup

Hi, got my son a quest 2 for Xmas and bought the recommended Anker cable to use with his pc. When trying to set up on his pc, the Oculus software just shuts down then restarts over and over. Have tried in every usb 3 port on the rear. I'm currently re downloading the software to try again then will try on my pc. Has anyone had any similar issues. His pc is a 4790k with a rx570 GPU, which meets the required spec. Thanks for any help, new to this vr haha.

Downloaded and installed SteamVR from Steam? https://store.steampowered.com/app/250820/SteamVR/

I'm new to this too, and I think it's required. I certainly downloaded it thinking it was needed.

I also use the Anker recommended cable. I've had it disconnect twice for no apparent reason, but on the whole it's been OK.

Nah, not downloaded steam vr. Got it working now. I re downloaded the Oculus software and also updated his GPU drivers. Rebooted after the driver install and it's now working. Not sure what fixed it. Wee one is happy playing Roblox vr now via virtual desktop.
