Quest 2 vs rift s for Steam VR games like payday2 or zero caliber

My friend looking to buy a VR headset so we can play co-op games together but not sure if he should get the rift S or quest 2 with a link cable for pc VR gaming.

I am thinking of quest 2 because he has the best of both worlds with built-in memory 256GB for the lighter version wireless games and the link cable for VR games that need a pc to run like payday 2.

Rift S is now end-of-life, and parts are hard to get. It's only worth getting if you can get one very cheap.

Quest 2 is the way to go, as it's the most flexible.
