Quest 3 charging issues

I'm wondering if anyone can help me with my quest 3.

It's not charging, it makes a noise and the light comes on briefly when I plug it in and sometimes it has the charging symbol and says it's charging but the battery percentage keeps dropping whether it's worn or not.

I've tried a different charger and cable, I've tried charging it via my battery strap and straight to the quest. I've tried a factory reset.
The only way I can get it to charge is by docking it but that's not very practical and it prevents me from using the battery strap.

There's no sign of any damage to the charging port ( it's barely used I usually charge it at the battery pack on my head strap)

Just wondering if anyone can offer advice as I bought this from Facebook marketplace so warranty is pretty unlikely

Try updating the headset to the latest firmware version using the meta update tool. A recent borkdate caused many charging issues. It’s cropped up on the meta forums a few times.

any warnings in the headset about slow charge or anything?
are you using the original charger and cable as a test to see if its working correctly?

There wasn't any warnings, it seems to be charging a bit better now after docking it until around 20% then plugging it in. Very strange
