It only had 1 side were sound comes out right? So doesnt that make it mono? Why would they give out mono headsets when dd is the standard for gaming, espically in fps when you need to be able to pinpoint where shots and vehicals are coming from? Wasnt the original one stereo? Ive found that dd, even stero gives a much more immersive experience and better sounding games.

When i was on live earlier, i couldn't make out a word of what people said, not even sure if my mic was working...pretty cheap and nasty.

Audio from the games don't come out the headset, only Xbox Live players voices. Audio still comes from the TV.
If you play with headphones you can set voices to come through the TV and just use the mic.

They are quite cheap though, but they do the job very well and they are lightweight.

But what if you play mostly at night like a lot of people do? You cant have the tv sound on, was a stupid idea to have it mono.

Then set the voices to come through the TV and use a pair of headphones connected to it. Presumably you wont be talking (because its at night and your worried about noise) so you wont need the mic anyway.

It's not a stupid idea to have the 360 headset as mono at all, seeing as all its meant for is communication purposes.

Just because you are trying to use a piece of equipment for something it wasnt intended for dosnt make it stupid ;)

I very rarely use my headset.

The intermittend fart noises it makes combined with the number of 'Darth Vaders' out there makes it too frustrating to use. Plus I find it off putting having the game sounds slightly muffled in one ear.
