7600gt consumes less power then the 6800gt os if the 6800gt worked in your pc then 7600gt will have no problems.

7600gt has fully working video processor unlike the 6800gt.

7600gt is faster then the 6800gt in virtually everything and in newer shader intensive games the 7600 has a massive leed over the 6800gt

Thanks Mav
Puts it all in one nicely for me ;)

Hi all.

Received my 7600GT AGP a couple of days ago. Came with all the software as listed at the Leadtek site.

I've got it running at:

Core: 601
Memory: 771

3DMark2005: 6167
(With Stock cooler temp going just over 50)
I'm very happy with it! :)

nice '05 score there, and at a good level of overclocking?

You order from a UK website? Or from OcUK?

Keep an eye on the 1-3 days, as if its going to be longer then it will change to out with a red square.

Cracking cards though for the prices. :)

Ok, cool.

Will keep the page open and post here if it changes :)

ho hum... card in and running 12250 in '03 and 5500 in '05 seems a little slow to me... probably my CPU, any thoughts?

From 3DMark05 project compare - P4 3.2, 7600 GT (PCI-E) - 6196 pts. A little down then maybe.

I'd love to hear from people when they get their 7600 GT about how it runs Oblivion (1024*768, HDR, no AA). Is it playable?

I'm looking for a card for my Dads PC - P4 2.4, 1.5GB DDR33, 9600 Pro 128 MB - and he really wants to play Oblivion since Morrowind was his favourite game. Clearly with a 9600 Pro it's nowhere near being able to run Oblivion.

I was under the impression that a 7600 GT was quicker than a 6800 Ultra, which I thought was quicker than an X800 XT, but looking at this interactive video card guide on Toms-

http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/graphics/charts.html?modelx=33&model1=529&model2=566&chart=204

-the 7600 GT (which does beat the 6800 Ultra btw) doesn't really get close to the X800 XT in Oblivion (13 fps versus 21 fps). Are nvidia cards just that bad at running Oblivion (same story in HL2 btw), or is it more to do with the 128 bit memory interface and 12 pipes? I do want a card that does ps3.0 though so a used X800 is no good. 13 fps doesn't sound very playable though  (admittedly max details)

Those charts are on max detail though, it was totally playable with a 6800 Ultra for me at 1440 x 900 (max view distance but some stuff was turned down, grass shadows etc, overall prolly classed as medium) but I'm not sure a P4 2.4 is going to be up to partnering a 7600 GT. I ran it on an Athlon 64 3200+ with 9800 Pro at pretty decent settings (1024 x 768, max view distance, mediumish detail) but on a 2 Ghz P4 with the same card it could barely cope with 800 x 600, 25% view distance, everything off/low and I wouldn't really have classed it as playable (at least need max view distance and low/medium settings imo, or it looks worse than Morrowind and as immersive as walking in fog, you can't see 2 feet infront of you).

Cheers for that :)

Trouble is in a system like he has currently, even as bad as a P4 2.4 is, it's still less of a priority than the 9600 Pro. It's not even a full 9600 Pro, it's a budget clocked back 400/400 (should be 400/600) one  There's no money to replace the CPU but I might look into adding a Freezer 4 and overclocking it.
