I did consider it, but obviously it would have been a motherboard change (and the inevitable format) as well as a pcie vga card......and given that Pcie2 is just around the corner, a current motherboard would be not much more of a stopgap that the 7600GT ive bought.
 
Sorry to Hijack but got a noob nvidia Q

Currently camping out on my front room window waiting for the postman to deliver my card.


So thought id have a quick look at downloading drivers for it.....


went on to nvidia site, and gone through the drivers tabs and brings me to the download forceware page clicky.

Never had a Nvidia card so...what is this forceware? I was expecting a list of drivers to download not a software package.
 
Got mine today!

Anyone else try to install 91.31 forceware and it tell you that it can't find drivers for your hardware? I had to install from the CD they gave me.

Also, I got trackmania and Serious Sam 2 with mine!! :D

They give you 91.32 forceware on the CD in the box, i'm one ahead of everyone else ! :p (only 91.31 on fileshack)
 
I had to do the same, load from CD the 91.32's

have since upgraded to 91.47's and seen a little boost in performance, these look solid drivers...

Did the upgrade to the latest work then?

Did you install over 91.32 or did you uninstall, reboot, install, reboot?

Serious Sam 2 looks brill on the graphic card, I let the PC set the graphics so I could probably go a little higher. Not sure why they supplied Trackmania Nations - first off it's a free game anyway & also it doesn't push the card to it's limit at all. Been playing Titan Quest as well - full graphics with the normal lag (streaming game) but other than some bad coding in the game and the fact that it's a streaming game it's very good.

Flatout 2 on full graphics... of course :) - best made game I've ever seen.

Going to install Oblivion later on, that should handle pretty wel aswell.

The card itself is very small, the heats are about 65 degrees under load (after playing Titan Quest) - that's with my case all closed up (Coolermaster wavemaster so it's not the best of airflow going through there as it still uses 80mm fans).

Very pleased with the card!

performance....

i installed the 91.32's and just installed 91.47 on to, no driver cleaner... all went well and running stable.....

i still have to load the freebies and will try serious sam II later...

card at 40C idle, expect less than 55C under load....but can not get rivatuner to se ecard and allow it to plot temp through an benchmark, need to wait for a new rivatuner revision.

ran CS:Source stress test and got average just over the 100fps, compared to about 80 on my 6600GT clocked to geath.

have you tried winding up the clocks yet on the GPU and mem?

Nah, gonna leave overclocking out for a while, I like the card how it is at the moment :)

Just been playing Oblivion & it handles pretty well :)
 
got mine today to but havent even fitted it yet :( .been at the st giles fair with me doughter :) .

will format tomorrow (needs doing any way) and then give this baby ago.
