Question about a photo in the "Yellow" Enteries

On 'super macro' mode I could get in close enough to the lemon slice so I didn't need to mask off the ourtside areas. Some Photoshop work was done to saturate the colours and clean up the edges.

How about the black surround? Were the surroundings taking out in PS later?
