Question about backlightbleed?

Well it arrived and all is working as it should.

Even better is that this time they sent me what i think is a new monitor instead of a refurbished one as when i go into the service menu to check the firmware details i can also see that the Monitor On Time and Backlight On Time where both at 0000hrs 00Min when i turned it on. Also instead of coming with just the panel and stand like all the others did it came with all the cables(DVI/DP/USB) bag & s-switch.

Guys.......i think i was so over the moon in getting the upgrade that after i plugged it in i just used it as it was with out looking to much at the settings.

Last week i noticed that the monitor was set to 2560 x 1440 x 60hz and i couldnt change the refresh rate. My GPU is a HIS 7950 IceQ Boost Clock 3GB connected with a DVI-D dual link cable.

Is it locked at 60hz because of the cable? If so my GPU has mini displayport output so if i get a mini displayport to displayport cable will i beable to increase the refresh rate?

I know i'm pushing it with regards to the graphics and hope to replace this at some point but for the time being i wanted to see how it handled games.

Thanks for the technical reply.....So DVI is fixed to 60hz. So if I get a mini displayport to displayport cable I'll be able to increase refresh rate then?
