2 question about BF2 ranks/awards

Ive got all the basic awards but cant seem to get promoted to First Sergeant?

Ive killed 28 people as an Engineer in one round but didnt get Veteran Engineer Combat Badge due to my terrible played time as an Engineer, there for will i get the award when i hit the 15 hour mark or will i have to hit the 15 hour mark and then kill another 20 guys as an Engineer to get the award?

Yes. ( when you hit the 15 hour mark )

There is Round Criteria ( Kills in a round ) and Global Criteria ( Hours Spent at a Level/Troop )

been a while since ive played bf2 but from what i remember you have to do the hours then get the kills.

Ive got the Basic Knife Combat Badge, Veteran Pistol Combat Badge, Veteran Assault Combat Badge, Assault Combat Badge Anti-tank Combat Badge, Veteran Sniper Combat Badge, Veteran Spec Ops Combat Badge, Basic Support Combat Badge, Basic Engineer Combat Badge, Basic Medic Combat Badge, i cant see any thing else i would need to get the First Sergeant rank, ive got over 20,000 points to, do i need to player every class a certian amount of time to get the promotion????

Right, all global requirements must be fulfilled before you can get the award. That means you need fifteen hours clocked before you stand a chance of getting your award.

That is, once you have fifteen hours, then you need to get your twenty kills as an engineer. You won't automatically get your award

Also, you need to have had fifteen hours on your stats at the time of login, so you need to get fifteen hours, then log out, wait for the stats to update and then you can make your attempt at twenty kills.

The promotion is another story. To get First Sargeant instead of Master Sergeant (I believe those are the two ranks you can reach at 20,000 points) you need to have the badges BEFORE you reach 20,000 points. If you don't, then you will get the lower rank until you reach the next set of ranks, at which point you will need the badges

I see so i cant get that promotion, ok then it just that the bar that says the progress to my next promotion is totally white, i thought i needed to get the badges to get the next promotion.

thats EA for you, next time u go on a server and get a kill or a few points you'll rank up.

It just takes a bit of time and in my experience you very rarely rank up as soon as you hit the number of points required.
