question about catalogue mail order stuff

hi - last month i got a new bed from a popular high street catalogue shop [i know they dont compete with ocuk but im covering my back]

they said it would take 30 days max to arrive - i have had NO CONTACT FROM THEM at all.

so on the day its supposed to arrive - today

i call them up and its not getting here now until the 13th march

they havent let me know anything and had my money the day i ordered
[i was quite content with a single bed and would have prefered to spend the money on my pc but that is beside the point]


so my question is - what can i do about it?
i know i cant speed it up - but they havent called me or anything to let me know of the delay

anybody else had experiences with ar-goose?
 
No experience with them, but when the bed shed delayed my bed by 2 days I managed to get a £80 refund from them :D
 
It's built to order, it will be the manufacturers fault. They don't phone everyone as they get delays all the time and get you to go to the trouble ;)

Yeah, very bad ones. Ordered an exercise bike, rang up and arranged the delivery, didn't turn up. Rang them up, said it'd be the next day, etc etc. Eventually they said oh no we don't actually have it, it'll be x days. So I rang them up and asked when it was coming, they said it'd been delivered and signed for. Obviously it hadn't, so I demanded to see the signature as I didn't have it.

Eventually got my money back after 4 months!

Dealing with the people on the end of the phone is pointelsss they don't give a stuff. Go into a store (non-extra pref), they will tell you it's a seperate part of the company, explain that you have tried to deal with them but your not getting anywhere. They can check exactly when the warehouse is getting a delivery and give you a better time frame, and if its too far they can refund you there and then ;)

All done and dusted now, but i'd never buy anything off them that was delivery again. To be honest they're not cheap anyway and i'd rather get it from other shops.

Only gave me my money back when I said i'd be contacting a solicitor, pretty bad for such a big company.
