quick question.. in order to become a certified ccna or ccnp for that matter do you have to complete all ccna exams i.e ccna routing and switching/voice/security or simply just one? same applies for ccnp?

Many Thanks

Angelos

p.s on a side note, is it worth getting compTIA A+??

No you just need to do one (although you can do it in 2 exams) to get the CCNA. So you can be a CCNA in just routing and switching.

Same with CCNP (although it's 4 exams to get the one qualification).

Well I have just passed CCNP Switch exam, after revising for probably 5-6 months, once a week for a few hours at a time with a friend.

If you hammer it you could learn it all in 2-4 weeks

As part of my degree we followed the CCNA and a few CCNP modules. I got something like 94% on the CCNA course and 85% on the CCNP stuff, but never actually got round to doing the exams after uni. Oops!

CCNA is v straightforward and CCNP isn't too bad if you can get your head round it.

Congrats Laser402!

Thanks Beansprout! Didnt think I was going to pass but it turned out to be fairly easy going, A large overlap with CCNA. SWITCH includes more of technology I work with everyday, so ROUTE will be the true test...

Good luck to anyone with the exams though!

thanks for your input, ive decided to actually go for some ms certs aswell as ive got a month or so before i start uni again so thinking maybe get one exam done. and grats laser
