today i upgraded from a q6600 to a e8600 and replaced my motherboard with the Asus P5Q Deluxe, problem is that i had planned to use my freezer 7 Pro to cool the new processor but it doesnt fit
it because of the large copper heatsink on the board (the one with ASUS written on it)

at the moment im using the stock cooler & i was wondering if it would be safe to try an overclock with this? if not could someone reccommend a decent cooler that is 100% going to fit this board?

It is possible to get the feeezer pro to fit on the deluxe, but this involves bending the bottom 3 fins down at each side and shaving the corners of the fan shroud. I done this on mine when i used it, but this may not be to your taste. As i was only using the freezer as a temporary cooler till i got my TRUE black.

ill just make do with the stock cooler untill i buy a new one ;) i have no real need to clock it any higher just yet anyway and it seems to be doing ok for now

its just a pitty that all the decent coolers require me to rip the motherboard out to fit them :(
