question about cross fire...

I currently have 2 4870's in crossfire, my board is cable of doing quad crossfire.

Now my question is can you crossfire a 4870x2 with 2 4870's for quad?

yes if u have enough pci-e slots.

but then there is the question is it worth it? as in some motherboards if u use all pci-e slots.

speed will go down to x8x4x4

Make sure the 4870X2 gets a full x16 slot & the 2x4870 get no less than x8 slot each.
If your mobo cant do this then forget it.

my mobo can support 16 16 8 4. so gues should be ok.
