If a file, say song.mp3 is saved to c:\song.mp3 from a website, it will be given the current time & date as 'date modified' in explorer, correct?

If this file is copied or moved (can someone test both) to a usb pen, does it keep it's original 'date modified' or is a new one created (is there a 'date copied' field that can be used)

Cheers

Modified is kept the same as the original, but the created is changed to the current.
i.e., c:\file to usb:\file

Edit, moving the file on the same drive changes nothing :)

thanks

copying & moving to the usb pen gives the same results then? (same date modified, and a new 'created' (set as current))

Moving (Within same drive, just different folders): Everything stays the same
Copying (From one drive to another): Only the created and accessed is changed (with Current timestamp). Modified is kept the same as the original
