Not 100% sure about DMT tool as it has been a couple of years since i used it but does anyone know why DGTeam firmware and the like don't let you alter the upstream target SNR? Is it a feature that's not in demand, would make the connection unstable in any way or are there complications in trying to implement such a feature?

I assume that the upstream target SNR can't be tweaked by the user and is set by the ISP?

I'm with O2 LLU and I know that when I asked to have my (downstream) SNRM increased to 9 dB (to try and stabilise my line in the evenings as I have quite a long line at 54 dB) this also affected my upstream SNRM increasing it to 9 dB as well resulting in a loss of around 200 Kb sync :(

To get over this problem I asked O2 to reset it back to the default 6 dB and I used the DMT tool to increase my downstream SNRM back to 9 dB for stability.

My upstream SNRM is back at 6 dB as well.

Which ISP are you with?

If your with BE then you can tweak your SNRM to 3 dB (assuming that your line is stable enough) and this may also reduce your upstream SNRM if you want to squeeze a little more upstream speed out of your line?

I assume this is why your asking? :)
