Question about dual booting (but still hardware related)

If I have too hard disks, one with windows and one with debian, will my pc ask me which I'd like to boot from or would it only ever boot the default boot disk?

if grub is installed onto the debain drive you can still just boot windows by selecting that drive to be first in boot order, otherwise you get a choice with grub.
