hey guys

I would assume quite a lot of you here know your stuff when it comes to games, so thought I'd post my question. :).

Bascially I want to buy some ea games second hand and want to know if I can play online with them? (even though they registered it previously to their account).

I was wondering if I can buy them, and set it up and play as if I'd bought it brand new?

hopefully someone knows :) thanks

Yeah every game you buy will be as new when you install it.

However online games like BF2 will pick on the CD key, which means altho you can register a new account, it will still see that the key was previously owned, but wont stop you from using it.

Only problem you'd come up agaist is if the previous owner cheated or broke the rules the CD key would be banned off certain servers meaning you'd have ban messages come up.

Single player wouldn't be a problem as a fresh instal would wipe all saved data.

Try playing the game online. You might be fine without further action.

If you have any problems, you can send EA a support email. If necessary, they'll disassociate the game from the previous account.

Note: EA's lower tier support may not be able to do this. If they can't, persist and get your support query escalated to a higher tier support agent. I have personal experience with them helping me with something like this, and also EA's End User License Agreement specifically allows a one time transfer of ownership, so you should be fine.

Here's a post I made about a recent encounter with EA.
