If you take out the extra 360 warranty, is it two extra years on top of the year you already get? The leaflet says extend your 3 month factory warranty for two extra years.

So does this give you two or three years total cover?

Edit...

And can I buy it even after the 10 day period is up?

It's definately 2 years on top of the UK 1 year standard cover. The wording of the card could be better (it seems it's been mixed together with information for the North American 360's as well).

As for buying after the 10 day period, I don't know really. You could always give MS a call on the 0800 number and ask.

I am in the same boat. I've had mine for about 3 weeks now but I couldn't afford the £60 warranty within the 10 days after buying the console! Cheeky beggars.

Just to add I phoned Microsoft support and they said its fine to take out the additional warranty after a few months.

I know people on here say that you can argue the point after a year but I dont really want that hassle. I cant see me selling it because I love it (my wife says more than her, wish she came with a warranty) so for 3 years peace of mind I think I will take this out.

Thanks for letting us know - I will give them a tinkle, too.

I didnt pay by phone I just filled in the form to send back. They said that was fine. I was straight through on the phone as well.

Oh... Unfortunately I threw my warranty form away thinking that because I didn't send it off within the 10 days I wouldn't need it... Maybe they can send me a new one or take my details over the phone.

Yeah they can do that too, I just wanted to pay by cheque instead of card. If you pay by card they delay the payment until the warranty period comes in. (I think)
