question about fans

Hi all,

regarding any size fan the question is ;

If I cut off everything from the fan and leave just the fanblade motor and cable, would the 'performance' of the fan be affected significantly?

Does the fan housing act as a channel fkr the air?

You can assume I would ensure the fan was stable and well secured in situ.
The fans would be used to cool a radiator.

Not by much I wouldn't have thought.

I suppose you'd get a little more leak to the sides.

If you've ever seen a video of a smoke test on standard PC fans you would not be too concerned about this loss.
