Question about fixing a plasma

Basically i have a 4-5 year old 50inch Samsung plasma. Looks like i need to change the capacitors. However due to the size i'm going to need to lay it on its side!

I've heard the gasses can run. Is this the case? I cant see any other way around it?

Recharging the gas would be covered by an extended warranty!
