Question about gaming monitor vs sony bravia 42"

Thanks for taking the time i read my thread.

So im looking to build a gaming rig with a budget of about £700-£800 within the next few weeks and im trying to decide what kind of monitor i want(on a separate budget of £450-£500.

Previously i had the 120hz version of

The thing is i work for Dixons Retail/Currys and i've seen this 42" sony bravia

(Link removed) but its a SONY BRAVIA KDL42W653 Smart 42” LED TV

which i really like and i should mention here that i do watch a lot of tv online using my current comp so i would get the benefit there.

Just looking for some advice on what the best next move is, thanks.

The tv is listed in work for £480 at the min but i get a standard employee discount of 10%, just waiting on the january sales to kick in properly, hopefully that might shave another £50-£100 off of it.

Outstanding, this is exactly the help i needed to choose what i want to do next. Again i cant thank you enough for your input here, especially at this ungodly hour

I'm also toying with the idea of buying the sony tv with a ps4 and maybe spending a little less on the comp, all depends on my budget will know that inside the month.

Also how would something like:

factor into this? i understand it would depend on how good a spec rig i bought and how many gfx cards i have in it. Purely academic at this point its just out of curiosity.

On a side note, what kind of Graphics card would you suggest i go for to comfortably play games on the sony? would i be better off getting two for instance?

I see your point about the Eyefinity setup, i think that would just put me over budget on my rig if i go that route.

Thank you for the links to the 21:9 monitors, I'll definitely take those into account before i purchase.
