Does a car have to be registered in the name of the policy holder? For example, if I have a car that is registered in my dads name can I be the main policy holder?

They usually ask you if the car is registered in your name, i don't think it makes any diff, may be wrong if someone could confirm.

I think you can still be the main policy holder, like the guy who had the RX8 a few weeks back who took pictures of his insurance docs etc, he said it was in his dads name but he was the main driver or something.

that was different really.

yes you can insure a car but not be the name on the log book.
