Hello, I'm going to be buying a mATX motherboard soon because I want to upgrade my ram from ddr2 2gb to ddr3 8gb, now the motherboard I'm looking at has integrated graphics but it also has a PCI-e slot. Now I'm wondering, does the integrated affect anything or does it just get disabled when I put my graphics card in the PCI-e slot?

Thanks

It doesn't do anything once a graphics card is plugged in. You may have to change the setting in the BIOS if you get no output from the graphics card though. It's very straight forward though.

The integrated graphics will be disabled by the video card you insert in to the PCI-E slot, your monitor will be connected to the video card so even if the on board video is not disabled it won't make any difference.

Do you have a card already or are you thinking about buying one?

Ok, thanks very much :)

I already have a graphics card, quite an old one but it has served me well and I cant afford to upgrade graphics atm.
