Right i plan on getting both a imac and macbook and i want to know if you can sync files from one machine to another.

For example i start with all my files on my imac and then clone my files from the imac on to my macbook. I go to college with my macbook and edit a few documents, create some new and delete some and come back home where i have access to my network, and then i say to look for changes on my imac, then all changes, additions and deletions done on my macbook with then be done to my imac.

Does "isync" do this?

If it were me I'd knock up a wee shell script to run rsync then set it as a cronjob. There might be a more GUI-ish way to do it though.

iSync is for syncing with portable devices like PDAs and phones.

you could do it with svn perhaps. make your documents directory one big working copy and commit the changes to a repository somehow...

hmmmm.
