I'm looking to rebuild my PC with a new Motherboard, SSD etc as per my thread in the Hardware area

I have a question though that relates to my current hard drive

My Current 180gb hard drive has my games / office . music etc on it. Ideally I want to keep these and use this drive as a storage unit and put the games and the new OS on a SSD

But how do I go about this? I'm pretty much a newbie at this stuff so as simple as possiable would help

It's currently partioned as well which I don't mind to be fair but I want to keep some stuff thats there but not everything as stated above

NB - if it helps I'm looking at the HyperX 250gb SSD with 8GB or ram bundle for my rebuild

Great Guide - almost what I'm after.

My Issue is the OS side of things - How do you over come this?

Cause I don't want the 32bit os I currently have as I am going to have a fresh 64bit os install on the system?

ahh you'd need to do a clean install then on your new ssd

keep your old hdd as it is and decide what to keep/delete off it later

How do I remove the old OS / extra crap thats there?

There is a lot of stuff I want to keep - but I'm not 100% sure were it is on the drive as such

For example, due to space issues and the rubbish that was on the machine when I got it I have World of Tanks on side of the partition, and War thunder on the other side

My main C drive basically is almot full - I think around 5-7gb free, while the other side has about 15gb free

I Barring the OS + the other rubbish that was there already, I want to keep every thing else - Games / OS and Office on the SSD (Hence going for the 250gb version so it has more then enough space) with music, documents and other unimportant stuff on the HD
