question about mysql_close

Hey guys, I've been playing around with databases in php recently and im trying to figure out the best place to to put mysql_close. I've noticed that even if I place it directly after my mysql connection has been made, i can still get my data from the database. I was wondering if someone could give me some tips as to where to place mysql_close for the best effect.

Technically you don't need it at all; non-persistent connections are automatically closed at the end of script execution (PHP manual is your friend ).
