I have a mid 2011 Mac Mini which is going to be surplus to requirements at some point over the next month or so as I have a new retina MBP and am planning to buy an iMac too.

I've never sold on a Mac before, what is the best thing to do with OSX prior to selling? There is nothing overly sensitive on it but still.......

Do I simply delete all programs/apps/documents that I've installed/created and remove my accounts from things like mail, itunes or easier there a slicker way to put it back to "out of the box"?

I have always just reinstalled OSX and left it at the initial account creation screen. So that as soon as they boot it they get the options to configure, accounts etc and away they go.

You'll want to boot from the recovery partition or CD/USB, run disk utility and do an erase with the security options set to a single pass of zeros. Then reinstall and leave it as PaulyD says.
