Question about parking sensors

Mine just makes a squeaky sound at 10cm as my towbar rubs against whatever I'm reversing at. Then I know it's time to stop

Ok maybe not 0.5cm but you know where I was coming from

And when you've parked 0.5cm from the car and the next mondeo comes along and parks 0.5cm from you and you then return to your car and wish to leave, what do you do?

When I park on my drive I have to reverse as close to the wall as possible so my Mum can fit her car on. I thought parking sensors would make it easier but I now find myself hearing the solid beep and then having to go back further rendering the sensors almost useless...

Yeah the BMW ones are annoying the way they go solid too early. I just got used in the E60 to knowing how much further I could still go back.

My sensors pick up the pavement behind sometimes if there is nothing else around. Phantom blips occasionally as well.

On my Octy my reversing sensors have the "beep" but also a display on my Sat-Nav.
The "Orange" appears and you think eeep, I'm too close. But when you get out you really aren't.
I obviously use plenty of observation when reversing, however I stop as soon as the display shows orange rather than before.
They do seem to air on the side of caution.
