Question about placement of the sticks

Hello wise sages of the overclockers,

I just got some new sticks (2x8gb 1600) and put them into my board, they did not fit well with the CPU fan in the blue coloured slots S1 and S3, so I put into the black coloured slots, S2 and S4. I just wanted to check this was all fine for performance.

MSI Z77A-GD65?

Using the two black slots is fine as the RAM will be operating in dual channel mode.

The user manual actually states that the preferred option is to poulate the black slots before the blue ones.
