Question about PTFE Tape

Hi all,
I've got all my watercooling stuff delivered, I'm going to rebuild over christmas but have a question with regards to PTFE Tape, I've read up quite a lot but am still unsure exactly where I put it (as in which barbs), i'm not sure if it needs wrapping around every barb or just specific ones, i.e around the radiator but not the res etc. Reason I'm confused is that I'm basically copying a build I followed on XS, i'm sure the guy's only put it around the barbs on the rad and not the CPU block so i'm not exactly sure what to do. Any help appreciated.

The role of PTFE tape is simple, its to stop leaks that spring from the threads of the barbs therefore they need wrapping around the screw threads on EVERY barb you have. The only time you don't really need PTFE tape is when the barb comes supplied with a rubber o-ring like the swiftech stuff.

Ahhh....ok, well some have got the o rings and some haven't, the Petra Top on the pump comes with DD perfect Seal's and the storm's got them as well. So I guess it's just for the Rad and Res then in my case? Thanks for the reply btw.

Yup if they have o-rings they don't need the tape - just do the ones that havn't. The tape will however provide an extra seal so it won't hurt to do them all.
