most of my music is in mp3 format and im wondering if there is a way to get it onto my 360 hard drive without a cd-r? i tried to do it with a jukebox audio dvd but it wouldnt let me copy, only play

Only way I know is plug a portable USB HDD in. It's not really ideal though and is one of the reasons I don't have much/any music on my 360, which is a real shame, as they've had several chances to improve this side of things. The 360/PS3 aren't exactly fast at copying CDs and the original Xbox was torture incomparison to a PC doing it!

thanks for the replies, i wanted it on my 360 so i could use my music as entrances in smackdown vs raw 2009, i dont always have my pc on when im using the 360 so it looks like ill have to get some cds :)

On the ipod front, theres not a way of shuffling songs is there?

Although I've just written that and thought 'why not just make a playlist of ever song and run that you ginger muppet'

Erm....nothing to see....move along

Yeah I do that, or just plug my mp3 player in.

Ive tried connecting my ipod touch to my 360 but it wont play any of the mp3s on there...is that not possible??..also tried hooking an external hdd into my 360 via usb but it wont play either music or video files.

Any ideas...at the mo i can only stream video files via tversity on my laptop...works great but id like to be able to connect my ipod or hdd drive to it.

Spawn - An Ipod Touch won't work on the 360. Type it into Google and I'm sure it links you to Apple or Microsoft which gives you the reason why. Is your HDD formatted to FAT32? Could be the reason why.

It has to be formatted in fat32 for 360 to see it.
