Question about reintstalling Win10 on my overclocked (8-pack) system

I bought the i5 6400/Z170 bundle last year from overclockers and have successfully been using it at 4.4 GHz with no issues for 12 months.

I'm about to swap my HDD with a SSD (I can't decide if SATA or PCIe is best?) and will need to reinstall Win10.

I know that the original instructions with this OC bundle stated that the operating system needed to be installed before flashing the BIOS and overclocking, so, my question is: will fitting a new SDD and installing a fresh version of windows give me problems? Do I need to roll back the BIOS and go back to default settings first?

Hope that makes sense
(I'm a PC novice so please use small words in any replies you post!)

If you buy a 2.5" SATA SSD, then you can probably get away with using macrium reflect to clone the existing drive to the SSD. That way you shouldn't have to re-install windows at all. I did this with my mum's laptop and cloned her 320GB HDD to a 480GB SSD with no problems whatsoever.

Can be bummer sometimes, but i always have a copy / backup of my win10 plus applications i always use. This being whatever the prob, the worst that can happen is just a normal win 10 install which takes what, mins, a cup of tea and a biscuit!

then you can use your system image with your rescue disk. I use to use other backup progs, but being that I hate having progs on my computer that i do not really need, i just use win10 backup, hasnt let me down and is so easy to use!

BIOS is stored on your motherboard, seperate from SSD/Windows , you are fine to re-install windows and it will not change your BIOS settings

that's what I thought but the original instructions on the overclckers forum said that the operating system needed to be installed before updating the BIOS etc.

Yes, the OS might have needed to have been installed to update the BIOS, i don't know the exact details.

The BIOS is stored on a chip on the motherboard, totally apart from the OS
