bought an new case the other day, it arrived today but it's the wrong colour (not what i ordered).

do OcUK do pick ups?
or if i post it out, will i get a refund on the money i spend sending it back?

if the answer is no to both... can anyone offer some cheap postage methods (read: companies) - that offer insurance over the value of £70?

the case in question is the Silverstone LC17... and is resonably heavy... :(

Email them or phone.

No shop threads allowed here. ;)
it's not a shop thread.
it's asking about postage methods. ;)
the rules aren't a blanket ban on all talk about OcUK, otherwise we wouldn't be able to ask about stock (etc) as so often happens in the CPU forum.

and i can't phone them because its after hours...

these have been done before and not got closed... but a search showed no results.

You'll have to send it back yourself, you do get the postage back if items are deemed to be faulty, but seen as the case is just the wrong colour then i don't know, but really you should as its their mistake, and as above shop threads are not allowed. :)

Oh, my bad. Sorry. :(

He is asking about postage methods, so that is ok.

If he was asking when his order would arrive, a shop matter that only a staff member could answer then it is not allowed on the forums, as it would leave a lot of unanswered questions about the place.

With couriers the cheapest is not always the best. I usually go with one of Royal Mails offerings, never had an issue. Make sure it is insured aswell, OcUK will have to refund the postage if you have to pay as it was their error.

IIRC Spie has never actually wanted to stop "shop talk" - but he doesn't allow criticism of the shop or discussion of specific orders. :)

awesome cheers mate.
will i have to give proof of amount paid or something

i normally use RMRD or RMSD... but both can be quite expensive.
i'm just glad this case doesn't come with a PSU... at least thats taken some weight out of the equation.

I have used Parcel2go.co.uk quite a bit recently and it's been excellent....All my parcels have been promptly picked up by DHL and delivered on time and in working order.....Maybe worth thinking about to send a case back :)

Now for that you will have to get onto OcUK.

Best to phone them up, they will know everything you want to ask and probably have a prefered courier.

If you ordered goods and the goods that arrived do not conform to the description of the goods ordered, then it is either a mistake or a substitition. If it is a mistake, then it is breach of contract and the supplier is responsible for the costs incurred in rectifying this, including the cost of collection, and reshipping the correct goods. It is, after all, their mistake, not yours.

If it is a substitution, then you are entitled to return the goods under the Distance Selling Regs, cancel the order and receive a FULL refund, including postage, because goods were substituted and are not acceptable.

You should also have been informed that any such substitutions can be returned at no cost to yourself. It is part of the pre-contract disclosure requirements of the Distance Selling Regs (para s7.(c))

Without referring to OcUK (as I don't buy there, so don't know their likely reaction), it is not unusual for suppliers to pretend that return carriage in this type of situation is down to the customer. Rubbish. You may have to push for it, and it may not be worth the effort, but the supplier made the mistake and gets the bill.

Of course, if contacted, OcUK may just acknowledge that without argument and arrange replacement.

Seq on the ball as per :)

In my dealings with online shopping returns I paid for the return postage cost with no offer of recompense.
I didn't even try any alternative as I thought thats the way things were.
Thanks to the above Sequoia I'll be trying a different tack from now on.
