question about "rock band"

i usually stay away from games like this (more on this in a bit), however the drums, list of songs and DLC is tempting me more and more to get this.

however, as i have a truly horrific singing voice, do i *need* to buy a usb mike to embarrass myself or can i just get away with 1 or 2 player using the guitar and/or the drums without affecting the game at all?

also, what is the best format to get this on? from what i can make out from wikipedia, the wii version comes out later, tbh i dont mind waiting for the best version, however its not going to have DLC like the 360 is it? and i assume the PS3 will have DLC too?
 
u can play 1-4 players and dont need any other player to play, so u can choose not to use the instrument u dislike in your case singing :D
I have it on my ps3 and love the drums the guitar strum bar i cant be doing with as im used to the gh3 one, and the rock band 1 feels slopy but there is a fix for this.
I play mine on my uk account and it updated with my uk account but i get my dlc from the states.
 
1. You don't need to sing if you don't want too
2. PS3 and 360 are the exact same game, both have the same DLC, but the PS3's is 1c cheaper lol
3. The Wii and PS2 are both getting versions. As for DLC, neither will have it, but they are getting extra game discs released at $30 for 20 songs, so kinda cheaper, but you don't get all the content. Online on the Wii also sucks. So the Wii will in no way shape or form be superior to the PS3 or xbox 360.

You could get the UK 360 release in a week or so, but for the same price, you could import the US PS3 version. The problem with an import PS3 version is, you will need to be able to buy DLC from the US store. You could wait for the UK PS3 release in the summer, but is there any benefit to that?
It will all depend on what console you have mates that play online on, if you want to play online.
Oh also, with the 360, you can use GH guitars, with the PS3, you can't (activision suck for that one)

btw, that was aimed at the singing games rather than guitar games like guitar hero :)

i thought about importing the ps3 version but reading on wikipedia about problems with the hardware with the drum pedal seemingly rather flimsy, i'd rather go with UK kit with warranty..

i'm likely to have mates round to play this, so the priority is multiplayer on a single machine instead of needing to go online.

I've had mines since around christmas and not had any problems yet.
 
I wonder, if one was to buy the US one, would we be able to download the UK DLC when it launches on PS3?

the reason for my thinking is that i probably wouldnt need any DLC between now and summer, but would wwant to buy it on UK store when it becomes available...

Less than 10 days mate, I'm counting down the days. I showed the mirs how to play GH3 at the weekend and I lost an xbox and guitar for over 4 hours. In one hit she got to the last tier of the career.

So I'm really looking forward to this coming through. Hopefully the downloable content is going to be ready because I'm gonna buy **** loads up from the list i've seen.
 
Yeah I hope the DLC is ready to go, there's a load I want to get.

How does co-op over t'internet work in this?

Can you list the DLC please??
 
I dont think it has internet co-op, last i read they scrapped it due to time constraints and will be putting it in for rockband 2.
