Hey guys

Just brought this card from OC

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-078-OK&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=416

Now in the Catalyst control center under Information center -- Graphics hardware it tells u all about the card this is what mine says

Graphics Card Manufacturer Powered by ATI
Graphics Chipset ATI Radeon HD 3870
Device ID 9501
Vendor 1002

Subsystem ID 0000
Subsystem Vendor ID 0000

Bus Type PCI Express 2.0
Current Bus Setting PCI Express 2.0 x16

BIOS Version 010.072.000.001
BIOS Part Number RV670 DDR4
BIOS Date 2007/12/20

Memory Size 1024 MB
Memory Type HyperMemory

Core Clock in MHz 775 MHz
Memory Clock in MHz 1125 MHz

Primary Display Yes

Im just a bit confused about the memory clock in mhz as it says on the oc web site thats it has 2250mhz and not 1125 ?

Plus the other thing i noticed was it states its 1024mb and not 512 mb ?

So was just wondering if anyone else has noticed the same problem but not sure of its a problem atm tho :).

And its not over clocked or under clocked or anything just install straight from the box with 8.1 cats.

Thanks all..

Can't quite remember about clock memory speed but its something about being double data rate so it runs at double 1125mhz (which is the correct 2250mhz)

As for the memory size, 512mb is on the card, while the card itself can use the system RAM where it needs to, up to 512mb, hence it being 1024mb of hypermemory.

^yup correct.

DDR means the effective clock is doubled....so the real clock is 1125....and there is 512mb gDDR4 onboard and if the card needs more vRAM it will start tapping into up to 512mb of system ram.

out of curiousity fella, can you post up a pic of the card. Always wondered what the OCuk version looked like, is it a Triplex version like the 3850?

Cheers

Ben
