Question about the Antec Nine Hundred

I am hoping someone can help me.

Does anyone know what the 2 large (8cm) screws and the 8 red "washers" are to be used for. The screws and washers can be found in the bag of screws that comes with the case. Nothing is mentioned in the manual.

I have contacted Antec about the mystery items, but they don't seem to understand what I am asking.

Please can someone help.

arent the washers so when you put a 120mm fan on the side, it doesnt vibrate, then you screw it on diagonally with the screws ?

I have the Antec 900 and I didn't use any of those bits either. I assumed that the red washers were for use whan mounting the motherboard as they reminded me of the little red fibre washers that used to be provided for that. I don't think they are necessary any more as modern motherboards are designed to be used with no washers.

As for the other screws I don't remember any 8cm screws......are you sure they weren't 8mm?

This explaination seems quite possible.

If anyone else knows the definitive answer then that would be fantastic.

There is definitely 2 large 8 cm screws in the screw bag that came with the case.

The longer screws (8cm seems longer than I remember) are for mounting the interior fan into its plastic mount....at least I think they're the ones you're talking about.

They also stuck in spare screws for the unused mounting holes in the plastic top cover. No idea why as its secure using the originals already.

The red washers are for the motherboard standoffs alright. You put them inbetween the brass standoffs and the mobo. Havnt had to use those in a long time thou so why they put them I dont know.....

Sorry everyone,
I made a mistake the screws are 3cm not 8cm. I Had 8cm stuck in my mind for some reason. :confused:

I just measured them again to confirm this.

I am not convinced that the 8 red washers are motherboard standoffs though.
Any other ideas.
