question about the iPad

Hi quick question as tempted to pick a iPad up in the next week or so.

I have a Home PC, A Laptop and a HTPC,

they are all on a home network so you can get files / view files etc from each one to another.

if I buy a Ipad, can this also do this as well?

As do not really know much about the iPad, played with them a few times. But do not know how I will be able to put photos etc onto the ipad. Does it have to connect with a wire to my laptop and do it that way, drag and drop or what?


Also, can the iPad display .RAW files.

Is it video / photo files or just files in general?

I use an app called FileBrowser which browses my network shares and can transfer files locally.

Videos can be played by using an app called Air Video. This has a helper app on your server which transcodes videos on the fly over the network to your iPad

With IOS5, you can also sync with iTunes wirelessly so you could get your pictures over that way also.

Theres probably at least half a dozen different ways of doing the above so you'd find something that fits.

Off topic question.
What specs should a charger be 5v/2A? Because broke old one and new one isn't charging very fast at all despite being 5v/2A which I'm pretty sure is correct?
