Question about tilt lock for Markus chair owners

When I put the tilt lock on, tilting movement is still possible over a very small range, less than an inch, with a slight knocking sound at each extreme. It's like a round peg through an oval hole - locked but with a bit of slack.

Is this normal?

Brilliant chair - it's a shame I didn't pay attention to all the recmmendations before wasting £60 on the chair I bought a couple of months ago, a "high back" chair that's only suitable for people about 5'6" tall. I tested the Markus on the first day I had it with 6 hours sitting in it followed by 8 hours sleeping in it. Woke up comfy and refreshed, like I'd slept in a bed.

I think I remember the thread. When you say "on", do you mean done up tight, because it's an adjusting screw IIRC (I haven't changed mine for months). Mine has a slight tilt (about 2cm at the back), but I'm sure it's not fully tight.

Can't sleep properly in it though because it's too upright.

I was talking about the tilt lock, which is either on or off and operated by rotating a lever under the seat, opposite the height adjustment lever. That locks the tilt to whatever angle it's at when you engage the tilt lock.

I think you're talking about the tilt strength, which is an adjusting screw (with a large cover to make turning it easy by hand), in between the two levers. That sets the maximum degree of tilt and the force needed to tilt.

Mine tilts 35cm. I don't know if that's maximum - I've set the tilt strength to what suits me.

Or are you talking about an adjustment to the angle of the back of the chair at rest, without anyone in it? If so...how do you do that?
