question about URL names (dashes or no dashes)

Questions:

creating a business site would you:

1. use .com or .co.uk or it doesnt really matter?
2. dashes or without dashes? i.e. ilikethis.com or i-like-this.com (I personally think dashes differentiate the words so it is better?)

thanks but what if the name you want is taken.. and that name describes your business succintly, in that case would you consider a dash or choose a different name because there is a dash.

(as a side note, the name i want to register only has one dash)
