I have a BeBox modem router and I am using a Linksys WRT54GL (with DD-WRT firmware) as a wireless bridge.

My question is, if I have the firewall enabled on the BeBox, is it necessary to also have the firewall enabled on the WRT54GL? Does it even make a difference?

I would say you don't need to enable the 2nd firewall and indeed it might cause you problems.

Indeed, extra layers of protection are great but it comes with a price, if something doesn't work, you'll have one hell of a problem tracking down the issue.
As long as you have secured the wireless as much as you can you will be fine.

The rule of thumb I follow:
* Change the default admin password
* Disable remote Admin access
* Disable wireless Admin access
* Change the SSID
* Hide the SSID
* Use WPA2/PSK with AES (Or the best method of encryption your wireless router/AP allows)
* Use a Passphrase with lots of non standard characters to stall brute force dictionary attacks.
* Use MAC address filtering
