So i have stripped an old case I used a few years ago for my first built. After removing everything but the fans, I have found a few groups of wires coming from around the power button area.

Since ive never seen a bare case before and am pretty new, I'm not sure what they are exactly. I'll describe them to see if anyone can shine some light on them.

1. One comes from god knows where (its enclosed and cant gain access). It is 2 wires: red and black, and says on it ZL 2510.

2. Next comes from power/reset botton (a bit more obvious these ones). They say H.D.D LED, Power Sw, Reset Sw. Even upon typing its became clear to me what these are lol:p

3. Next comes from a small (almost very small motherboard like thing about 2 inch by half in inch) panel sort of thing about an inch below the power at the front of the frame. There are 2 wires that come from this area.

3a) set of 4 wires with small end socket things saying VCC1, USB -, USB + and ground.

3b) set of 7 wires with similar end socket thingys, labelled: MIC BIAS, RETURN R, RETURN L, SPEAKER R, SPEAKER L, GROUND

Yeah so, not sure which of these are vital, what they do, if they all need to be connected to my new mobo/psu?

Thanks

2) Power/Reset buttons , HDD activity light
3a) This connects to an internal USB header on your mobo for an external USB port on your case

At a guess..

1. Speaker (most likely)
2. As others stated and you worked out yourself, HDD activitly light and your power/reset switches
3a. USB port for connection to the motherboard
3b. AC97 Front Panel Audio connectors
