question about xbox controllers for the PC

as far as i knew, you could use any xbox controller as a controller for the PC (provided you had the right drivers and whatever).

however, on a certain rainforest that i am not allowed to mention they sell a wired xbox 360 controller for the xbox, and a different one for windows PCs. do i have to use the PC one if i want to use it as a PC controller, or can i just use the xbox one?

nope i use two wired xbox 360 pads on both my pc and xbox without problem

Both are compatible - I tried to play Fallout 3 with a 360 controller, but couldn't do it - I can't game on consoles anyway

thanks. i was 99% sure this was the case, but i didnt want to waste £13 on yet another controller (ive managed to accumulate 4 wireless ones)

You can use any wired xbox pad for the pc there just the same. You can get a dongle for the wireless one as well.

nice idea, but the adapter is more expensive than a wired controller :rolleyes:

The only difference with the PC version of the wired controller is it comes with a disc full of out of date drivers.
