Hey, about a year ago I brought myself a copy of xp home, installed it, activated it etc.

So i've just upgraded my pc with a new hard drive, will i still be able to install my copy of xp on it, or since ive used the registration code once does that mean i will have to buy a new code to activate it?

thanks for any help

If you've only upgraded the hard drive, regardless of the licence type you can still use it.

If you have an OEM Copy of Windows, and you change your motherboard, you will be required to buy a new copy of Windows.

If you have retail and change your motherboard, you can still use Windows without buying another copy.

should be ok , I upgraded my Motherboard due to a fault and phoned them up as I was Having trouble activating, then they gave me a new activating code over the phone :-)

ps was not this motherboard:-)
